Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an ancient Japanese healing art, re-discovered by Mikao Usui.  Rei
means universal life energy and
ki means the vital life force found in all living things.

Reiki is not a religion but a nurturing, non-invasive  healing technique where Universal Life Force
Energy is channeled  from the hands of the practitioner into the body of the recipient. Reiki  energy
promotes self-healing, stress reduction, provides pain relief, speeds the healing process, among
other benefits. Reiki works in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques and is also
widely used in hospitals, hospices, and with animals and plants.

Typically the session will begin with the recipient lying face up during half of the treatment session,
then rolled over face down through the remainder of the sessions. The recipient lays fully clothed,
except for shoes, on a massage table listening to soft music in the background, while the
practitioner  places her  hands gently  on or slightly above the body  following a  protocol
traditionally taught to Reiki practitioners. These hand positions are well spaced along the client's
body and together they provide good coverage, though the energy does go where it is most needed.

Treatments can also be done in a chair. Your comfort and needs are always the main consideration.
Comfortable loose-fitting clothing is recommended.
The ability to use Reiki is within us all. This amazingly simple technique to learn is not taught in the usual sense, but is
transferred to the student during a Reiki class via an attunement or initiation. Once attuned to Reiki, the ability to
channel  the energy will be with the person for life. There are 3 levels of Reiki: Reiki 1 and 2 and the Master level.

All manuals, materials and certificates are issued for all levels.
